Fashion is fast rising amongst Nigerians and it takes alot of courage, perseverance and hardwork to make ones effort recognized by the public. One of such people who have made a mark and are still attaining more positivity is Funmi Ogunja a fashion blogger, TV presenter and freelance fashion journalist in London. I met up with her for a photo shoot and also got to ask her a few questions to understand her motivations as well as stance in fashion... Enjoy..xx

1. Who is funmi Ogunja? - Funmi Ogunja is a Fashion, Beauty and Style enthusiast, with a strong
background in TV, Production and Graphic design. I would say I represent
the young African woman who lives outside of Africa with a huge passion
for Fashion, her culture and country. I am not a stylist or a make up
artist but enthusiastic about the two, I express this through my fashion
and beauty writing for magazines and also through my blog; www.funmiogunja.com
A Fashion, Beauty, Music & Lifestyle blog.
2. What motivated you to start your website and what makes it different from other blogs? - I was and still am a dedicated reader to a variety of blogs, but never had one blog that covered all my interests. For example a lot of the fashion blogs I was devoted to did not touch on African fashion and style, vice versa. I found that I was hopping from one blog to another in order to be fully satisfied. This is the basis of what motivated to create my own blog and fuse all my interests together hoping that this filled the niche for people who shared the same interests as me.
3. What is fashion or style to you? Describe your fashion sense - Style to me is how one dresses and presents themselves to the world. It differs from one individual to the other, the term Fashion to me I think describes the "majorities" style and dictates new trends to the stylish. I would describe my style as fun, bold, sexy and trendy. I love bold colours & prints, obsessed with shoes and blazers and a handbag lover!
4. Where do you expect the Funmi Ogunja brand to be in 5 years? - In the next 5 years I hope for the Funmi Ogunja brand to
have expanded. I would like to bring my passion for Fashion to TV in an
unconventional way.
I would also like to expand to buying and retailing
clothing, accessories and cosmetics and to also bring the blog and its related features to print.
5. What services do you provide? - I do freelance fashion and beauty journalism. I
graduated with a bachelors degree in Graphic Design and also do
freelance graphic design, printing and video editing.
I'm also into Events & Entertainment TV and do presenting and production work.
I'm also into Events & Entertainment TV and do presenting and production work.
6. How can people see your work? whats your twitter, instagram or site address? - People can see mywork online at www.funmiogunja.com, Facebook: funmiogunja.com Twitter: @funmiogunja or on youtube: Cokobar and FunmiOgunjaTV Or email Funmiogunja@hotmail.com
7. What advice would you offer to young ladies trying to carve a niche with blogging, fashion and your kind of career? - Without sounding cliche I would advise young ladies trying to carve a niche within blogging and fashion; to
be original, active and invest in yourself.
Whatever it is your into
from, writing to designing, always be and express yourself, its the only
thing that will set you apart from everybody else. To be active and put
yourself and your work out there via all mediums available to you, this
helps in getting your msg/work across to the right people and getting
you connected to the right people.
Investing in yourself is very
important, time wise and financially, nobody will take you seriously if
you don't take yourself seriously. Presenting your work in the best way
possible will attract an audience.
Thank you for visiting my blog.
