Lace that blue dress up

So the sun came out to play today and I was overly excited to rock a dress I had just recently purchased. Trust me because I am quite tall, it ended up looking really short on me so much so that heels would have made it look way too short even for a night out. So i decided to pair it with my brogues and this ensemble was weird because if anyone ever told me a year ago that I would be pairing a mini lace dress with a pair of flat brogues as opposed to flat sandals or heels, I would have burst out in disagreement. I guess that is the whole essence of fashion, it is about having an open mind and embracing different trends in ways that fit your personality. In as much as I have streaks of being a tomboy, I dont mess with my feminine outlook, it is mandatory that I look tip toe at least for the most part if not from head to toe. This is how I rocked my lace dress ... enjoy...

First because the neckline of the dress is almost high and round, it is best to rock a center part straight weave. It sits well on the outift as it would sit well when one is rocking a turtle neck top or dress.

On a day like this make sure to oil your legs profusely to avoid any ashy looks since ones legs would be on constant display.

Go into a world of your own. Yes! Ignore anyone's opinion when dressed up and remember that you are beautiful regardless. Take at least a few minutes to close your eyes and remind yourself of what a beautiful woman you are because indeed you are beautiful.

Considering that this look is being paired with flat brogues, try not to wear too many accesories. This will make the ensemble look clumsy and attention will be taken away from the statement dress and statement pair of gold brogues. I chose this statement bangle because it is one piece and quite simple.

Your nails should be done, minimal makeup if you wish but stick to nude lips. If you intend to have ruby woo on, pls pair this dress with flat white sandals and a lovely carry on bag which isnt all over the place.

Preferably I would advice you to rock any one of these chanel boy bags or sling bags in this nature which would remain on your side and not look clumsy.

A boat party preferably with black or white flat sandals

A quick stroll to the beach with the hubby

A simple rooftop wine tasting with the hubby or with your girls

A house party if you dare to...lol

Holiday sightseeing with your friends or your hubby

And anywhere you deem appropriate

I WOKE UP LIKE THIS : Rocking your Joggers Fashionably

There are days when emergencies spring up and we have to rush out of our homes without fully being prepared physically. This could be quite daunting because presentation is highly important and this is not being said from a vain stance point but it is a general fact, well dressed people are more likely to seal business deals. That being said the whole idea is not to necessarily drain one's bank account in pursuit of a fancy wardrobe as the key and trick is in working with what you have and learning how to accessorize and in this context a fancy pair of shoes happens to be the accessory. There are days when I dont intend to work myself up on looking fab and so I thought it best to share how I rock a pair of joggers...enjoy

I have minimal or no make up in this post because as the title says "I woke up like this" lol. I have a little bit of foundation and some lipgloss. But the idea was that an emergency sprung up and I had to rush out whilst still looking presentable and fashionable. Also if you look closely you would notice creases on the joggers. That being said always make sure you iron your joggers once they are done from the laundry incase you need to rush out of your home unannounced in them

My hair no doubt is a bit out of order in this post so ladies, its best to sleep with bendy rollers or at least put in bendy rollers once you wake up to avoid bad hair day. If my hair had been in bendy rollers prior to my emergency phone call, it would have added a lift to this outfit. Nonetheless the deed has been done and better luck next time...lol

 My business meeting went well...(psych) lol... kidding.. these two happened to be extras for my shoot. But you never know you may bump into people you know when out so always make sure to have your hair curled in bendy rollers, and a lipgloss in the bag saves you stress.

For a quick facial touch up whilst in a hurry,  why not invest in the following

Whilst you are rushing out, you can use these 3 products quickly in the lift, in your car or on the train like I do when I am speeding off to work.

During my shoot, I stumbled upon some teens from East London and their outfits were unique and simple. It also matched the I woke up like this theme I was trying to portray and they were happy to be part of the shoot...

Rock that Denim

For a change i decided to get infront of the camera and show how i would rock the denim on denim trend which is common amongst several fashionistas. My inspiration for this look was Kim Kardashian who rocked her denim shirt with ripped denim pants and cream colored winter coat. A few weeks ago the famous Adrienne Baillon who I have featured in the past, rocked the combo but in her own way and I thought it was beautiful. I personally was inspired to style the winter coat as I did because of images I had seen from blogger Soraya from Style is My Thing. I believe women can rock similar ensembles but with little twiches here and there. I hope you all enjoy the images from my own version of the denim on denim fashion trend... enjoy...
